About the author

  Who are you?

My name is Arthur VIGAN. I am a 23 year-old French male currently living in Marseille.

What is your job? Are you a software engineer?

No, software development is just a hobby for me. I studied optical engineering during 3 years at the Ecole Supérieure d'Optique in Orsay (France), and I am currently doing my PhD at the Laboratoire d'Astrophysique de Marseille on the instrument SPHERE for the VLT in Chile. The goal of this instrument is the detection and observation of exoplanets.

  Where did you learn programming?

I started to learn C in high school from a book, and thanks to the help of Louis Balourdet I learned graphical programming under Mac OS 8. When Mac OS X was released by Apple in 2001, I switched to the new system an learned Objective-C and the Cocoa framework with the developer documentation and the development tools provided by Apple.

What else can you tell about you?

Not much. Feel free to read my CV to learn a bit more about me.
